What is the Gamji Foundation?

Why is the Foundation called “Gamji”?
The Foundation is inspired by Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, fondly known as Gamji. His lifelong commitment to education, institution-building, and leadership development guides the Foundation’s philosophy and mission.
How are beneficiaries selected?
Beneficiaries are selected through a transparent, merit-based process using standardized academic benchmarks, primarily JAMB and WAEC results, followed by verification to ensure fairness and credibility.
Who is eligible for Gamji Foundation awards or scholarships?
Outstanding students from Local Government Areas and States across Northern Nigeria who meet the academic criteria, such as high JAMB scores and strong WAEC performance, are eligible for consideration.
What types of support does the Gamji Foundation provide?

How does the LGA Sponsorship system work?

Yes. Individuals, corporate bodies, institutions, and development partners can sponsor students, adopt LGAs, or support Foundation programs through donations and partnerships.

Does the Gamji Foundation operate only in Katsina State?
No. While some programs began in specific states, the Foundation operates across all 19 Northern States of Nigeria and continues to expand its reach.
